Hi folks,
I have been annoyed about the poor performance of my 5245's hydraulics on the loader, because the oil pump is bad.
Yesterday i freed the 540/1000 rpm PTO speed selector lever with WD40 and a pipe (it was stuck when we bought it 6 years ago, and the previous owner probably had'nt used it either)
Since now, my oil pump is running at 1000 rpm, what would give me 60 instead of 33 liter per minute..
The loader lifts more than twice as fast, and a hundred kilos more... I can still notice that i can lift more at 1500 engine rpm than at 1000 rpm (imagine that i had to go to full revs at 540 rpm to get anything off the floor)
I still want a new pump, but the lifting speed is just awesome at 1000 rpm. The pump just seems to howl a bit.
Do you guys use the 1000 rpm PTO to increase lifting performance on loader tractors, and are there any cases of overheating oil or excessive wear on the pump ?
