Can anybody give me a contact in the midlands for getting my frost damaged Zetor engine block welded? .....thanks.

You can better braze them with copper and tin. Or use Holts engine block patch...

Hello I got my engine block welded here in Norway but that I belive is to far from your location.
I had about 10 cm crack in my Landrover engine, and it is not a easy task, first you have to find the end of the crack and drill a hole in both ends. Then weld 1 cm at the time with special welding rods. after welding you have to tap om the weld to get out the tention in the metal. Cast iron contains lots of carbon and that makes it hard to get an good result. It is never garanteed that it will a good result. But it might be other damages too.
so try the advice you got using tin but still you have to drill holes ind the end of the cracks, to stop it from expanding.
Thor
