I have been reconditioning the brakes on a Zetor 3045.
This involved fitting new cylinders / springs etc...
I have replaced the two sealing rings (oil rings) in the brake backplate.
One is a 45 x 62 x 12 that is held in a fixing cover that attaches to the rear of the brake backplate with 3 screws - this goes all the way into the cover - no problem with its position.
The second seal is a 50 x 72 x 12 that sits in front of the bearing on the front side of the brake backplate. I took them out a few days ago and now that I have the new ones to fit I notice they can go in the location all the way up to the bearing or a few mm back from the bearing. ( I didn't make a note of the position - where they correct anyway?)
The position of this seal is important because it runs on the outside of the inner location in the brake drum and if the seal is too far in it will miss the location.
Is there a known distance to position the seal from the face of the brake backplate? Any cross section drawings?
Any info will be greatly appreciated - if the rear axles have to come off again due to leaks it is not an easy 10 minute job!!
