Zetor 3045

Am about to start restoring a Zetor 3045. I don't know much about them unfortunatly so any information would be greatly recieved. Tried to start it this afternoon by pulling it around a field a few times but without sucess - just as well really because there were no brakes at all!! I guess that this is something I need to look at fairly quickly. What sort of hydraulic oil should I use?

Brake fluid: DOT4
transmission/hydraulic oil: We use 10w/30 multifarm, but others will do too.
engine oil: 15w/40 turbo engine oil, commercial grade. Different viscosities might work better in a climate different from the Dutch.

You had better start reserving a day a week as these things become addictive!

heheh...

At the moment i am overhauling a 3 ton Schuitemaker manure spreader. It is a design from late 50s built till 1993. Anyway the drawbar is a bit low for a 5245 or 6718, so i am thinking of buying a Zetor 25 A to put in front of that manure spreader...
That'll take a lot of time.

Still playing about withthe 3045. I have bought a manual from tractor-manuals.com [/]but there is no information at all about overhauling the brakes. I have already got new master and slave cylinders - the master cylinder looks a pretty straightforward replacement job but how do I get to the slave cylinders? Do I have to remove the wheels etc.? There is an inspection panel above the brake shoes either side of the driving seat but I can not see how to do any work on the brakes from there.
Unfortunatly winter is about to set in and I have had to move the Zetor out of the space it has been occuoping in a barn to make room for a cold room so progress will be held up for some time.

to take out slave cylinders you must take off the rear axle portals. about a day of work.

Hi,
I inherited my dads 3045 and been using it for a few jobs around the place but the starter motor has just gone. Been quoted 200 to get it repaired. Wondered if anyone knows of any secondhand ones or where to get a new one?
