Hi,
I'm having little problem with the 3511, and would greatly appreciate any help ! The problem is electrical, as the engine is'nt turning over, which indicates that the power is getting cut off somewhere in the circuit, but where may this be? A new battery was purchased few months ago and worked fine until about a month ago. I'm just after charging the battery, but still, the tractor remains completely silent when I turn the key. Any ideas?
Thanks

firstly check the connections on both the thick battery leads.... they need to be clean and tight for a good contact... take them apart to check for clean contact areas

then test the starter
on the starter motor solenoid there are three terminals , the 1st big one has the battery lead connected to it , the little one is the signal from the starter button which activates the solenoid to connect the two big terminals together to send the current to the motor.....

if you bridge from the first big terminal (battery live) to the little terminal the starter should work ..you can use a screwdriver, spanner or even the engine oil dip stick.. you may get a few sparks, dont try bridgin the two big terminals together directly wiv a spanner ... you will get a lot of sparks and may weld yer spanner on which will destroy the battery and starter.....

if yer starter works ok your looking at faulty wiring to the starter switch.... the battery lead on the starter solenoid should have a small wire on the same terminal which goes to the ignition switch then theres a wire from the ignition switch to the starter switch then from tother side of starter switch down to the little terminal on the starter.

good luck

just read yer post again... does yours start on turning the key or on a push button after the key is pushed in?....
on most old zetors turnin the key turns the lights on

do you have lights illuminate on the dash at all?
do you have any lights?
if nothing seems to work but the battery is charged check the connection on both ends of the thick negative battery cable, esp where it bolts to the chassis

Thank you a lot for that lengthly and detailed reply, I have checked all components mentioned and the solenoid is being replaced as we speak! That seems to be problem solved :)
