I have a Zetor 4340 with a cab. I bought a small generator to heat the block because I don't have electric yet out at the farm. Anyone else ever done this? How long should it take to heat up? I have a 1000 watt small generator. The block said 400w in the manual . It also said plug to a grounded outlet but my repair man said I should be fine. Very green with this tractor so any comments would help .
Thanks

What country are you in that you need to heat the block? it must be some place worst than -10c if you have to do this.

In the northern US and Canada a block heater is pretty much expected to come standard on new equipmemt by the customer. Scandinavia too. We allways got our stuff running up to -12 and if we couldnt, it was due to frozen summer fuel or poor batteries. Never used starting ether.
