Hello. Wondering if anyone can help here. I have a 5211 that won't start. I ran fine when last parked, a couple of months ago. Now, when I try to start it, it's dead. I have charged the battery and checked it - it's OK. I've made sure the battery cables are OK and the ground to the tractor frame is good. When I try to start it, if I rock back and forth in the seat vigorously, the starter will occasionally engage - but only momentarily. Then it stops and is again completely dead. No clicks from the solenoid. Nothing but silence. I've got power at the solenoid with the key in the ignition. I've checked the clutch interlock switch. It's OK. Anyone have any idea where else to look?

Hi
Read my posting labeled "Does this sound like a bad starter on 5211" and the replies I received...see if they will be of any help to you.

My problem was the solenoid to starter connection. Hope it helps

Hey Don,
Thanks for the information. I had already looked at your post and there is something in there I need to try. I know my problem isn't the solenoid. That's what I first thought - so did my dealer - and I'm the proud owner of a new solenoid. (This is probably old news , but the bakelite end cap is available at authorized Zetor dealers. In my neck of the woods - Virginia - it's $14.) I'm going out to try jumping it across the solenoid connections. I am beginning to suspect the problem is somewhere in the brown wire coming off of the clutch interlock and running to the blade connection on the solenoid. I think I've been through everything else. I'll let you know. Thanks again, Paul
