zetor 5425 hi lo lever not connected, repair method?

hello
new to here and new to zetors
hi lo range was in place then selected lo range and lever then went floppy,
how do i reconnect the lever to the selector?
access?

A rollpn was originally used, but i prefer either a new rollpin with a small wood nail inside so the rollpin cant compress when you pull the lever, OR just a big wood nail tapped tightly into the hole and then the end ground off.
