Put the hi-lo gear range lever in neutral, put the PTO lever in ground speed pto, put the transmission in reverse and hook up a PTO shaft to another tractor that just runs on 540 PTO. When you release the clutch (travel clutch !!) on the 5545 the engine will turn or the other tractor will stall...
Good trick Renze ...... just make sure it is at least a 70hp PTO shaft or you will split the yoke in 2.
And dont rev the pony tractor too hard!
Might be safer to have the PTO in the 1000rpm setting on the
Zetor? Not that I can get mine to work/engage in that position.
Also when you were trying to tow start it, are you sure it was in High ratio and not in low ratio?
If it is in low it will just lock up the wheels, I would use High 2nd or 3rd for tow starting, and tow it about 5-10kph.
If you suspect it is locked up try turning the flywheel using a big screw driver through the hole where the starter should be.
It should turn quite easily unless there is something horribly wrong, such as water/Rust in the cyl.
If it turns a about 1/4 of a turn and then stops suddenly it is likely hydraulicing and you will need to pull the injectors out (or wedge the exhaust valves open by adjusting or packing the rockers) then wind it over (using Renze's method) to blow out the water or
oil or diesel (whatever is causing the problem).
You should have no problem getting a s/h starter from your local tractor wrecker, i picked one up yesterday just to keep as a spare, cost me NZ$100, they had about 6 Zetor UR1 series wrecking, i spent about 2 hours there
