have found a zetor 6745, and are interested in it (looks interesting)........it is a 1976 model 4wd, non cab

has a big blade on the front of it........

anyway on the right side of the transmission above the brake pedal is a patch on the side of the transmission........what could this be from, has something gone wrong in the transmission and tried to jump out?!......lol

it is 4wd?.......is this a model that is only 4wd in low range?......the fact that it is cheap and 4wd is interesting......my father does a lot of hill work

The patch would have been put on because the gears have broken out of the side of the gearbox due most likely to one of the selector forks breaking off & jamming between the gears!
This model drives the 4WD at the correct speeds in high & low.
Is it cheap for a reason? Beware of poor repairs in the past!

Whoa........he does still live!! All hail the great Super Hero of the online-tractor world, puddingman!!!

Hey Pudding, that has been a long time !!

How does the patch look like ?? A round plate with three bolts ??Above the brake pedal... Have you seen a cabbed UR1 Zetor ??

I think you mean the cover plate where the big pipe is sticked through the bell housing, that carries the cab on cabbed models.

About these tractors, i think they are excellent hillriders, as you can lower the rear portals about 10 cm by turning them more rearwards, the original (factory built) mountain version was built the same way and was called "Horal". The Horal version also came with smaller (and wider) tires and lots of wheel weights.

The old MFWD axle might not be the tightest in turning radius, but is a very solid axle.
The rest of the tractor is the same as our 6718, and that 6718 is just a BEAST... I have driven a Kuhn 2.30 meter rotovator with it. I hired it from a dealer, he said i was going to need 140 hp to pull it at full depth, especially in the mud... But the 6718 pulled it through the mud at full depth, 1800 rpm in 1st gear low...

These tractors are faultless. Nothing to worry about, if i could lay my hands on a 6745 or 6748....:D ;)

Just make sure that the patch is from the missing cab support....:)

hey renze........this donkey is fetching 5000NZD.......a very cheap 4wd......especially considering a good condition MF135 goes for 8000NZD......and a 165 is worth up to 10000NZD

the ole man is thinking out aloud again.....lol........he is getting fed up with risking his neck on a cheap 2wd tractor........when for less......he can have a 4wd zetor

you can see the plate just to the front of the break pedals.....looks a lil rough welding to be factory

my personal favourite is the sx65 and blade in the last pic.......but it is worth 4 times more the money, for the same hp

actually renze

we are scratching our heads as to what all the levers do

i know the pto clutch is a lever like the park brake

i know the pto is selected by the twist lever under the seat.......but whats the gears?........what is the lever under the steering wheel?........

this one i believe has a hi lo, zetor matic, and air compressor

wonder how much flow we could get from the hydraulics in 1000pto?.......

after reading ya UR1 section i am more interested.......

lol........while on the topic of new tractor adventures, i got the pleasure of driving my neighbours belaruses (well two of his 5).......and once i figured out how to start it (they have a isolator switch on the battery box).......i actually enjoyed the experience..........might try find a old unusual belarus for the collection two (that really gets the nieghbours talking!)

Pudding,

Yes that patch is a PATCH, and not a covering plate. ;)

I think it is no problem, maybe it would not like a loader without a full length support frame....

it cannot have hi/lo, as it has the 540/1000 rpm PTO. Both options cannot be fitted at the same time. The twist lever, is to select 540 or 1000 rpm. The small lever on the floor, left, is PTO and oil pump: from front to rear: 1. oil pump only 2. oil pump and PTO 3. neutral 4. ground speed.
The right hand lever on the floor is the gear range selector lever.

The two hand brake style levers, the left one is PTO clutch, the right hand lever is hand brake.

The Zetormatic is the lift control system, working like the Ferguson system, but better...;) (at least that's what i am told by some one who uses both..)

hey renze

thanks man....

so that big lever under the steering wheel on the right must be the gears and reverse?

cool....i will go back and have another look at this bus soon......for my father

i really would like a crystal for my own shed

have to get the family to clear off some of this MF tractors they have accumulated (8 of them now!)

Yes, the big angled lever in the dashboard is the main gear selector... Wonderful, a lot better than the mid mounted gear lever they put on since the 1980's... Only the Super and Proxima with side mounted lever can match that dash lever...
