Pops out of 3rd gear: Are the fuel tank rubbers broken and/or sagged ?
Range lever not attached: replace the rollpin holding the lever on the shaft. It can be a bitch to get out because you cant see when the holes align to tap the old bits through... I pulled it off sideways and tapped the three broken parts out one by one.
