I weld the wear grooves of the transmission housing, untill there is just a little groove left, i'd rather not weld too much so the slot will be deformed after i have ground it flat.
on the front of the gearbox top theres a row of bolts sticking up .... they are on top of the detent balls that hold the selectors in position ... check they are screwed in tight.
if one is loose you can get the gearbox in 2 gears at the same time
We have come across this many times, We have cut out a "gate" from 1.5mm sheet steel and bolted it under the gear pedestal, or there is a mod by Zetors that has a spring loaded extending end to the gear selector thats easy to fit. Careful, deliberate gear shifting also helps.
