question Zetor 7045 steering cylinder is leaking

Hi my steering cylinder is leaking pretty bad I haven’t taken apart yet but does anyone know if there’s a seal kit available or if the seals have to be matched up with what’s available

Please remove the dust boot at the location shown and slide it back to take a photo of what the cylinder looks like in that exact location.

There were various versions of the power steering cylinder.
If (if!!) yours is still original, it should be the "old" version; you will need the seal kit:
5511 3940 DS (around 15 €)
be aware, not the newer one 93-8302 for the Jihostroj steering cylindres.

But it's not just a hydraulic cylinder. The chrome-plated piston tube is hollow, and inside is an integrated control spool, which is controlled via a control tube from behind the cast part (spool housing).
You'll have to completely disassemble it and pay attention to a few things when reassembling (presets), and then fine-tune it on the tractor.
It will take (if you know what you're doing) about 2-3 hours, depending on how dirty it is and how much it resists disassembly.

The small aluminum sealing ring (included in the sealing kit) is best removed with an 8mm drill bit. Twist the bit into the aluminum sealing ring by hand (!!!) and then pull it out with a firm tug. Do not drill it out with a power tool or hack at it with a sharp tool—you'll destroy the sealing surface!

There are three things to pay attention to when pre-adjusting during assembly:
- Preload the ball stud
- Adjust the slide tube (the thin inner tube) for no play
- Basic dimension after screwing on the chrome-plated piston tube

Fine adjustment on the tractor:
- Check all required dimensions: at the ball joint at the front of the power steering cylinder, at the control rod at the rear of the power steering cylinder, at the steering push rod, and of course, the tie rod
- Then, depending on where the steering cylinder operates independently, adjust it to the center position (it doesn't move independently) by turning the piston tube (slightly!!).

I have already resealed around 30 of these power steering cylinders for my customers. It's not difficult, but you have to keep a few things in mind.

Yes there is available for your tractor. I sold a set only last week for tractor same as your. The kit costs 25 euro.
The power steering unit is grand on 2wd drive tractors on 4wd they eat the seals especially if a loader on them in the end i use to buy a whole new unit and not too bad
 
If you could let me know how I can purchase the correct seal that would be great

Ok, thats the newer one seal kit as I wrote some postings below: "Zetor 938302"

And... unfortunately, you can't tell from the outside what type of seal is inside the control spool. It could be a standard NBR O-ring (approx. 2.8 mm recess) or the version with an O-ring with a PTFE band over it (Double Delta). In this case, the recess is approximately 3.5 mm wide,

and you'll need the Double Delta Sealing Ring 932176 in addition to the aforementioned seal kit, which isn't included in any of the seal kits.

If your cylinder has the Double Delta sealing ring inside, its PTFE band must be heated in water so that it can stretch without elongating!

You also have to be very careful with this sealing ring when reassembling the head tube so that the PTF ring doesn't accidentally slide down on its own before it has pressed into the recess.

It's no problem for me if you, as a dealer, occasionally offer spare parts or manuals for sale. While I can ignore the manuals as a hobby, offering/selling gasket kits gives the impression that you're trading commercially. As I said - no problem.
However, this could classify this forum as a trading platform, and I would have to collect your contact details, as is the case for anyone who sells things for business.

If you happen to have a spare gasket kit, that's still OK and can be dismissed as a hobby. However, if offers are made regularly, I would assume commercial trading and would then have to collect your business details, as I may be required to provide information and don't want to take responsibility for other people or even personally incur liability.
This is explicitly not meant to be malicious; it applies to anyone who wants to regularly offer things here, and no, I didn't choose to do this; those are the rules.

For the benefit of your customers, it's also desirable for them to know who they're doing business with, since you're surely only shipping upon advance payment.
