question Zetor 7745 ...what John Deere model number?

No - the Zetor 7745 doesn't have a Johne Deere model - its a Zetor 6340 or 7340.

No, I stumbled across the topic while cleaning up the forum and had an answer right there. Maybe it's no longer of interest to the topic creator... but maybe it is for others who also stumble across this topic (Google search). :)

I don't know the exact figures, but the John Deere Zetor was originally only intended for the African and South American markets. They were also slimmed down compared to the original. The cabin looked more modern, but was less well equipped. Green and red Zetors rolled off the production line at the same time, and there were plans to have the green ones manufactured in Mexico as well.
Zetor did benefit a little from the partnership with John Deere, but ultimately JD wanted to take over Zetor and that's where the break probably came from. Thank goodness, otherwise the history of Zetor tractors would have ended in the mid-90s.

Defiantly never saw any tractors like that in this country, for sure.

As Joachim mention they probably all went to Africa and South America.
I see on some forums/FB groups/Youtube that some people (specially from eastern part of Europe) are painting their old red Zetors in green colors when they are renovating the tractors. I just can't understand why they want their Zetor to look like a John Deere.....

That picture there with the passenger seat on the right side, I presume that was to suit the people who drive on the opposite side to us in Ireland? Because they were always fitted on the left here. But I don't I'd like someone sitting there on your right, as most things are done looking to your right, especially speaking as a right handed person.

No - the passenger seats were always built so that they could be used on both sides. For a while there were even extra cushions for the left and right.
The background to this was that in the Eastern Bloc, helpers often had to come out into the fields (e.g. at the sorting table during the potato harvest or when hoeing weeds to control the hydraulic hoe) and therefore one requirement for the cabins was to be large enough to take at least one passenger, or even 2 if necessary, to avoid additional journeys by car or moped.

Very few Zetor 's in John Deere look have been repainted - yes, such things do exist, there are also Zetor's in Fendt colors. But the majority are genuine. When the partnership with John Deere was abruptly ended, there were probably a lot of green Zetor's on the Zetor parking lot, which were then no longer exported via JD sales channels, but remained in the country and were sold in the Eastern Bloc.

They were also sold in Spain and New Zealand.
Our dealer had a green one years ago, they bought it in Spain and sold it to Czechia.

Most JD painted Zetors in Eastern Europe were originally sold in Spain.

That's right - I even have a Spanish brochure with me above: "Nuevos Tractores..." ... 🤭 ;)

Although - Spanish would also be useful for Mexico or Brazil eg.

No I meant, as you lot drive on the other side of the road having a passenger on your right would have not in your sight or view of on coming traffic. Some one sitting on your right in this country would be awkward.

I understand...
We also have right-hand traffic in Germany. Nevertheless, quite a few people put the passenger seat on the left-hand side, even if there is only one passenger seat. The reason for this is often that children riding with them should not be left alone on the machine anyway, and even more often the cross lever of a front loader is on the right-hand side. The passenger seat would significantly restrict freedom of movement.

Some also say that they want to see what is happening in front of the mower on the right when mowing and have therefore installed the seat on the left - that would also be a plausible reason.

It is definitely technically possible. Legal, at least in Germany, too. Only the holes for the seat are pre-drilled in the wheel arch on the right-hand side. There are only rubber plugs in them from the factory.

In Ireland now, it is illegal to have children under 12 on a tractor, in a public place. And very illegal to have a passenger on a tractor if you have no passenger seat. What you do on your own land is up to yourself.
