hi everyone i have a 8145 4wd the pto stopped working i have just replaced hydraulic pump as lift was not working, now the lift is good, the lever connection under the cab is connected and is moving as it should. thank you for reading hope you can help .

Check you have it in gear, lever on right on floor, should be moved with engine stopped

yes i looked at that, when i move that leaver down to the floor the pto moves but it doesn't switch off with the leaver at steering wheel, not sure what position that it is in when its down to the floor but doesn't work in any other position.

all the 8011,s ive driven the pto shaft still apears to go round when the lever on the dash has turned it off, but only if nothing is connected to the shaft...even pushing a bit of wood against the shaft will stop it turning.

the drive is dissengaged but theres just enough friction in the clutch pack to drive the bare shaft.

i checked pto pressure today, im getting no reading, think i should be getting 175 bar, i am getting a flow of oil when i pull the leaver but no pressure, i put in new filter and cleaned the other, still noting, the TA is working as well.

There are 2 pipes that go into the PTO pack, one is the brake and the other is to close the clutch plates to make the shaft rotate. So when the engine is running there shpuld be 175psi in one or the other depending on where the lever under the steering wheel is positioned. If the TA works and there is no pressure in either of these pipes then the fault must be in the valve under the floor , provided the linkage is not disconnected or stuck up

Thanks. the linkage is moving perfect, and the TA, would it be something wrong with the pressure relief valve, or the gear stick unit on top of the box?

TA pressure is the same as the PTO, you check the TA pressure normally at the PTO pipes. They share the same pump ( with the FWD)

thanks, im going back at it to day hopefuly i will get some good of it, where is the relief valve sisuated? i looked under the floor, and saw a bolt going into the top of the gear box with and lock nut on it, is that the relief valve?

as i am getting no pressure at pto pipes how is the TA working, can it work on less pressure?

got it got it going again, the pressure relief was the problem, happy i did not have to split it, the pto wont stop stright away, but will stop by your hand, not to conserned about that, will stop with a load on it. thanks again for your help , can continue on restoring it now:)

Hey pat

would you mind posting some pics f your restoration? i really like seeing people progress with such projecs and yours seems interesting

ya will do, i have converted the steering to hydrostatic, removing the complete steering box and putting a ram on the axle and fitted a orbilal unit on it. got the orbilal unit of a combine, steering is very good now

Yeah i can see why you would do that, the push rod style steering system wasnt up to par for 4x4 zetors IMO, especially with FEL attached. ive never seen an 8145 series tractor before and was checking out some pics online. what is the left hand gear shift for by the seat?

the left one is forward and reverse and low forward, the other is 1st 2nd 3rd 4th

thats pretty cool that it has a mechanical reverser, always wanted one on our 5245, liked that the 5341 had the option. thanks for the info)
