What's up at Zetor and Zetor dealers?
http://www.zetor.com/zetor-proxima-power They have used the Major styling on the Proxima... guess what i think ? I think it looks better than the old Proxima AND the Major ! Even after they changed the Major hood with that diving goggle- look to a headlight unit that resembled the Proxima, it still has a beauty flaw: it combines large planes, with some very crowded and detailed edges around the outer contour. Yet now on the Proxima, they added three bars of mesh to the top of the hood, and the extra lights built into the planes above the main headlights, identical to the previous Proxima. Somehow that puts balance to the entire design, and i think it looks just good !! I just get the feeling that the time lapse of designing, was...
Gary Bogart, chief of Zetor NA says that they are revitalising their operations, wanting to expand their dealer network from 100 to 250 dealers in 4 years. He also says that the biggest numbers in the USA are sold sub 70hp and plus 180hp, so with the Major they make good chances of getting their momentum going again.. source: Rural Lifestyle Dealer Exclusive Manufacturer Viewpoint: Zetor North America - https://www.rurallifestyledealer.com/articles/2443-rural-lifestyle-dealer-exclusive-manufacturer-viewpoint-zetor-north-america
at page 9 of this Huss emission technology magazine is something written about Zetor: http://issuu.com/hussgroup/docs/huss_magazine_9_exhaust_aftertreatment?viewMode=magazine&mode=embed They have contracts to supply the DPF for TIER 4 final as well. That would probably mean in 2014 they add a new exhaust pipe with integrated AdBlue kat behind the DPF. In the 100-175hp class they must reduce from 3.3 to 0.4g/kwh Nox so they can probably do this with just adding SCR and not wasting the engine responsiveness with more EGR... John Deere in the +175hp class (NoX emission in TIER 3B of 2gr/kwh, so quite lower than the 100-175hp class in which Zetor is operating) needs two turbos (a fixed plus a VGT which keeps getting stuck from EGR soot)...
All righty, i've just compared the instruction manual side by side, of the HSX 2012 model and the new 2013 model from the link by ZetorfanPL: new features: - four PTO speeds: a lever for standard/eco is added along with the existing 540/1000 flipswitch: This replaces the ground speed PTO - (dis)engagement of the PTO whenever the 3pt is operated (headland automation) - new heating and airconditioning unit: its mounted at the back instead of at the front, so view on traffic lights or a front loader is much better: - a glass roofhatch with rollshade - wheelbase is indeed increased to 2590mm, NOT by stretching the chassis but by moving the front axle 100mm forward: overall length is not increased, so with heavy front ballast the balance...
Zetor announced an hour ago on Facebook, that they will introduce a Major 80 on the Agro Show Bednary (Poland) No details known yet, though i expect it to be basic Antar models for the 3rd world market, just with a TIER 3B engine as mandatory in the US and Europe. Or perhaps a new name for the basic Proxima models, to set them apart from the Plus and Power versions. However there were rumors that it would have a Carraro rear end fitted... ??? ...just wait and see :)

I didnt catch the latest news (have my job) but they really gave it the finishing touch !! People kept complaining about the cheapish external hydraulics controls as if it was a pimple on a hot blonde... Its the first thing you notice when you hop into the cab: Its not finished. With the new MITA hydraulics (the old Zetormatic is gone, replaced by a system with external lift rams and less slack on the top link mount) the controls in the cab are integrated very nicely, now its really FINISHED...
http://www.zetorna.com/new-dealer-opportunities https://web.archive.org/web/20120119172629/http://www.zetorna.com/new-dealer-opportunities They seem to refocus on the NA market... Zetor NA now covers not just the USA but Canada as well, and is looking to dense their dealer grid (or that is: put up new outposts ;) ) Anyways they have their act together in the 70-120hp market which means the models are ripened in farm practice in Europe, enough to send them out to remote areas of America with just a few dealers.

Are they going to get the Forterra Power 125 and 135 with ZF rear end with powershuttle out, as promised ? ...If they ARE going to use that ZF rear end in a complementary Power series, i hope they have improved the rear axle: Those ZF rear axles of the Fendt 500 series just broke off when...
I havent heard much lately, not even from the website of the development bureau of Zetor (which sometimes accidently post some bits of info) nor anything else. About the speculation about the ZF transmission being used, ZF is buying clutch packs from BorgWarner, where Zetor can also shop, as they already have a good transmission factory. Graziano of Italy also builds powershift clutchpacks, with which Zetor has a long lasting relationship as they began buying synchromesh rings from them in 1992. The clues Zetor publiced, which could only lead to the ZF speculation, may be just a distraction and they are developing their own transmission with bought in components ? I cant imagine ZF can do it cheaper than Zetor, but i can imagine...
finally with powershuttle: the prototype has been showed and discussed at the dealer conference. Dont know when they go into production, and when more models follow. Video gelöscht. source: Nový Zetor PROXIMA - Stránky 3 - Nasetraktory - http://www.nasetraktory.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=99910#p99910
i hadnt checked the Agrostroj Pelhrimov website for some months so i did. I saw that it was under reconstruction, and that a Trac-lift logo was showed on the site. Did these companies join forces ? I think its a great idea for them to join forces on the export markets. They both produce exceptional value for money, but just lack the proper dealer support. With 1 product name, marketing cost is cut in half... I just think that Agrostroj Pelhrimov should change their trade name a bit, to make it pronouncable by foreigners ;)
Hannes Drechsler, chief of Zetor Trade, said in an interview with Profi 2/2005, that Zetor will introduce their orchard and vineyard tractors of 50-80 hp, a heavy duty compact of 45 hp and a 3 cylinder Proxima of 55 hp. I think that 3 cylinder proxima is old news, as Zetor withdrew the 5441 from actual production, while it was mentioned on early sales literature. He also mentioned a heavy range of 140-180 hp so the original intentions of 155 and 170 hp have moved, upward as well as downward in HP range. With the new 16 speed Proxima gearbox, which is split in two compartments, Zetor made it easy to build the compacts on the basic gearbox and rear end of the standard farm tractors, they can just design a shorter first compartment, to...
Does anyone have any new rumors about the Zetor Maxterra range, which is to be produced from 2009 ? A 24/24 gearbox with 4 powershift steps and powershuttle, and 40 speeds if fitted with optional crawl gears, doesnt that sound a lot like the ZF 7000 series transaxles ?? http://www01apps.zf.com/kst827/ZF_ProduktDB/produkt_app_print.asp?bgcolor=0&langID=2&doSendAnwend1=1&anwendID=12&doSendAnwend11=1&anwend11ID=null&doSendBereich=1&bereichID=null&doSendProd1=1&prod1ID=6&doSendProd2=1&prod2ID=143&doSendProd21=1&prod21ID=null&doSendUnterEbene=1&unterebeneID=null&doSendProdTech=1&prodtechID=1 The ZF transaxles are efficient and durable, though many tractor producers that used them right from the start, Deutz and Steyr, had trouble with...
