  1. 5245 Hand Brake Stuck

Backing up did the trick, but I now think the linkage is not allowing the bands to release when using the hand brake. The brake cable is new so I'm not sure what could be the problem but I plan to find out! Thanks again guys.
  2. 5245 Hand Brake Stuck

Thanks Renze and Forterra, I will try reverse and see if that breaks the bands loose. If that does not work I will have to gain access to the brake bands. I will let you know what happens.
  3. 5245 Hand Brake Stuck

My hand brake is stuck and will not release. This does not appear to be a linkage problem, but something to do with the hand brake bands not releasing. How do you get to the bands? I don't see any portal or access opening, has anyone else had the problem?
  4. Power steering 5245

There was no "O" ring on the inner tube and one on the outer tube that was replaced had broken. We put an "O" ring on the inner tube where it screws into the block and replaced the other "O" ring. Adjusted the outer tube to about 2MM and now there are NO leaks and the pressure is equal with NO...
  5. Power steering 5245

I have had a power steering leak in the hydraulic cylinder for some time and just installed a kit to stop the leak. Now the cylinder is not leaking but the block at the end where the other line is located is leaking in two places. There was not a noticable leak before but now it is bad...
  6. 5245 Power Loss

Replaced the lift pump but did not help. All the lines have been replaced except the fuel line from the tank. Removed the fuel tank and found the line was crimped a couple of inches past where it connects to the tank. The fuel line was compressed against the tractor frame and after 1400 hours...
  7. 5245 Power Loss

Doug, I have ordered a new lift pump as air keeps getting into the fuel causing it to lose power and sometimes die. This keeps getting worse and now I have to bleed the air from the injectors before it will start up again. If there is an air leak somewhere I can't find it so hopefully the new...
  8. 5245 Voltage Regulator

Thanks Mike, I will do as you suggest.
  9. 5245 Voltage Regulator

I need to know where the voltage regulator is located so it can be checked out/replaced. My battery is not charging and both the battery and alternator are good, so it must be the regulator that is bad. Thanks, Dale
  10. 5245 Power Loss

Thanks for the suggestions, on my 5245 next to fuel strainer bowl and forward of the hand fuel pump is a compressor for tires (?). In the Operator's Manual there is no mention of this compressor or how it works. The 5245 setup may not be the same as the 3340 or is this the same as the lift pump?
  11. 5245 Power Loss

Where is the lift pump located and does it have another name?
  12. 5245 Power Loss

Hi Martin, Thanks for the reply, has new fuel filter, bowl is clean, etc., it starts fine but loses power after running for awhile. I thought air might be getting into the injectors but don't see how. Does this tractor have a governor and if so could that cause the problem? Thanks, Dale
  13. 5245 Power Loss

After using a 6' cutter for about 30 minutes the engine starts losing power and stalls out with any load. It seems when the engine gets hot it stalls out but I can't find the reason, any suggestions would be appreciated.
