12145 pto clutch growl when engaging under load

Put the mower on the back, pulled pto lever in engaged position and as it took up a growling noise was heard and vibration under foot throttle was felt. Suggestions?
 
Once running it is fine and runs perfect. Will it slip under load or once engaged it locks in
