Hi I am looking at a zetor 5211 to replace a ford 3000,any things I should look out for?

master brake and clutch cylinders. dont mess with new pistons, its the coating of the liners that goes bad and eats the seals. Replace the entire master.

Furthermore, they tend to let air in the fuel system, making it hard to start. if you dont mind replacing all fuel hoses, you'd have to hand prime with the manual lift pump before you start it if it hasnt run for a couple of days.

also it cant be a 1982 model, because serial production of the 2 series didnt start before 1985. if you are sure its a 5211 and not a 5011 wich was produced until 1984.

thanks for the replies, firstly it starts very easily and runs well.the brakes and clutch seem to work ok except that the brakes stick on on one side supposled from lack of use.. on the age the plate by the steering wheel gives a build date of 81 but the bonnet badges say 5211. must look at the modle no on the plate.

Perhaps the bonnet has been swapped.

The Data plate on the steering console should have the model number on the top line.

1981 sounds right for a 5011. The 5011 from memory should have a mechanical link to the clutch not hydraulic
