I know the shift lever can be removed first...what about the PTO speed shaft assembly--it extends up about 4" and appears to be held on with 3 screws.Cover/speed control lever slides off of the splines. There is an oval cutout in the front of the seat platform but the cut out does not appear to be enough to let the cover raise with the speed shaft sticking up in the way..Beginning to look like the whole tractor has to be disassembled to get the gearbox cover off. If all three screws are accessible, can the pto speed adjustment shaft be removed before removing the cover? Thanks

Hi
Yes you should be able to to remove the 540/1000 rpm togel whit the cover on. On the other hand since it is the pto you are working on you might have to take the bakcend cover of as well so it might be a good idea to remove the seat and rear floor from the cab.

Hi

The trick is to cut the 2 cast eyelets off the front end so the front end can be lifted up first. With the l/h floor panel off you can slide it out sideways.

Thanks Bjarne and Xero- I need all the tips I can get-I will be off work the next couple of days so I plan to turn some bolts-sure hope it goes well and I see the problem quickly and it is fixable and that parts are available..

Are there any special instructions about removing the cab floor where the seat mounts?Glanced at it a few days ago and I don't see many bolts holding it on-maybe a few bolts will loosen and I will just be able to raise up the front edge an inch or two..any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks
