I have a 2000 3340 which has always started immediately. 2 days ago, it refused to start. Seemed no diesel was getting through. Checked all lines and found a couple of breaks and fixed that so now the glass bulb fills with fuel . Tried cleaning fuel filter, don't have a new one yet. Anyway, if I fill the fuel filter canister with fuel manually, it will start and run a few minutes till the canister is drained - looks like fuel is coming into the glass thing, but somehow not getting through to engine. Anyway, manual says to install electric fuel pump in case like this. Anyone know what kind? BTW, if I pump the primer, fuel does flow into the filter canister.
Thanks

sounds to me like the feul pump pin inside is stuck .the pin between the feul pump and the injector pump if ur able to bleed it by using the hand pump

you need a very thin socket wrench with extensions to undo the fuel feed pump, or mark the fuel pump on the engine, then loosen the bolts to turn it your way, and undo that mean little bolt between fuel pump and engine.

The fuel lift pump is operated by a cam on the pump shaft, it pushes fuel out when compressed and sucks fuel in by spring return.
Sometimes the piston gets stuck, then replace it with a new lift pump (dont go messing with just new seals or pistons, as mostly the piston gets scratched stuck into the bore)
