Hi, finally took the plunge of joining the forum after reading some of the topics when time allows, anyways what I am trying to find out is if anyone knows if there is a wiring diagram or what is the best way to get the charging system going and some lights on to it so i can see in the dark lol.

We are only a small farm and do most of the repaires ourselves and the zetor is our main tractor, yes i know a 1967 tractor as the main one but its just about big enough to manage all our old equipment lol. anyways thanks for any help and will probably be asking alot more questions as i try to get the 4011 from just about keeping going to a nice old tractor again,

My experience of Zetor looms says after 45 years service, start from scratch and replace each cable and conection individualy, then tape them into a new loom. I'm convinced this is how Zetor manufactured their looms, as without patients and a phase testor, they are imposible to understand.???
 
get a haynes workshop manual from something like a mk 1 escort , virtually any 1970's car will do, and use the circuit diagrams from that to rewire the charging system..... lights is simply battery, fuse, switch , light and earth return through the light body and vehicle structure to the battery earth.
 
thanks alot for both ur replys, will have a crack in new year after caught up on the rest of my jobs lol. will just rewire the charging system from scratch then and scrap what bits are already there, thanks again
 
I have a wiring diagram, its in a parts book you can get from Barlows of Henbury or I can send you a photocopy if we can work out how to email each other. Alan there is a mine of information and has almost anything u want- but not a wiring loom he says they are unobtainable generally. Apparently early wiring looms were not colour coded, so its fun with the multi meter. Oy moto check in Finland have re manufactured some looms, but 150 euros plus postage. I'm about to embark on a re-wire myself on a 3011 so will keep u posted. I intend to replace each wire seperately as I take out an old one, and once all in place tape up, although I'm going to look at enclosing some in plastic tubing, piping whatever.

For the last 20 years I isolated the battery from the main wiring system, ran a wire from the battery to the horn push and then to the solenoid, so I could start it on battery. No charging of course, but only ever seemed to need to charge it up once a month or so. No lights of course. Good luck. Tracroll
