5211 disassembly for brake work

Mike, one more question.. "In simple terms. Support cab, disconnect pipe, slacken handbrake nuts, remove innermost ring of bolts, pull off complete assy with engine crane. Brake is easy to dismantle then".... Looked at it a little closer this afternoon..The innermost circle of bolts involves dealing with the bracket that has the big rubber grommet that supports the upper body..so does that mean that all this has to be lifted up before you are able to slide out the axle assembly? Thanks
 
Yes, you stuff a piece of wood under the cab so it rests on the rear end, then undo the cab rubber bolt and then twist the axle portal down so it releases away from the cab mount, then you pull it out.

Noone around here has ever even heard of a Zetor much less know anything about them..


 

Undo the bolts that goes through the rubber dampers the cab is resting on. then take a Jack. Place it on the ground at back of tractor. then find a long piece of Wood that you Place under the beam thats under the rear window.then Jack up the cab. then put a piece of Wood under it ontop of the hydraulic cover and take the Jack away. i almost forgot. before you Jack up cabin you must remove the panel between the engine and Dashboard. its hold on Place by four bolts one in each corner.

On a 5211 you only need to support the cab. There's no need to lift it as the portal will slide out okay. A long piece of wood cut to length from the ground will do. (Or a jack !!!)

Mike --- Thanks Mike-that sounds good--guess all this will be clearer to me once I dig in--just looking at it now, it looks like the cab support bracket(with grommets) swallows the flange of the axle unit and won't come out without raising stuff about 2 inches..
