Hi, On my 35/45 there are shims (spacer washers) when you take the steering column off of the steering box.
If you add a shim it tightens the steering. If you were to take a shim out you would loosen the steering ie. you would be able to turn the wheel a bit before it turned the steering.
I couldn't get a shim locally so I cut one out a piece of gasket paper, it worked fine.
This is an old tractor ,I wouldn't know if it's the same system as yours though.
Hi
The steeringbox on the 52 is difrent than the one on the 30/35`s, there are only one one large ball bearing on the steeringwheel shaft, wheere the old ones had conikal roler berings over and under the skrew. On my 4911 the nut on the axel out of the steeringbox came lose and the kay got worn cosing play like the one you deskribe. Hope this helps.

Bjarne, what happens when i undo the steering shaft with the 4 bolts on the main steering box ? will the whole shit of loose parts drop to the bottom of the box, or can you take the shaft out and inspect the steering box without parts falling down so you can put the steering shaft back into position without having to lift the cab and take the horizontal shaft out to put things back into place ?
Hi
@ Renze You will have to undo the steering wheel and a couple of nuts holding the upper beering locked to the column and shaft then you can pull the column of the shaft, the ballnut on the bottom end of the shaft is held by two pins that are boltet into a fork on the horisontal shaft, so as long as the shaft stays in the ballnut noting falls apart.
