6011 pto not working

Hi the pto on my tractor is starting to mess up, i can be working away and all off a sudden it doesnt work, if i stop the tractor and start up it will work again for a minute or so and stop, and continue to do so as many times as i want untill i get fed up, any ideas and what about fixing is it a big job.
