I recently purchased a 6245 with 200hrs on it. Unfortuneately it was kept outside.
I am trying to get a Igland 3501 logging winch going on it but am unable to get the pto speed to change from 1000 to 540 which is what the winch requires. The pto speed selector wont turn all the way to the left. It appears to turn to the neutral position or the 1000 position. It is likely that the tractor pto was never used at the 540 speed.
From what I have been reading wd40 might get the selector unstuck so I am going to try that. When I go to move the pto selector, what position should my other levers be in? To the left of the seat is the hand brake and 5 min pto brake. By my left foot is the small lever that engages hydrolics/pto. The pto speed selector is between my feet. By my right foot is small Lever that selects the range speed.
Any suggestions on how to get the pto speed selector to move to 540 would be greatly appreciated.
If I keep the engine at low rpm can the winch still operate fine with the tractor at 1000 pto speed?
Thank you
