Hi All
I have a zetor which i have slowly been working on. When i got it it was white smoking badly. The head gaskets we weeping so i have had the heads off, cleaned and inspeced and refitted. The bores kept oil in for several days so they are obviously pritty good. It still smoked so i looked further and found the lift pump to be badly worn. replaced this and it ran for a short while and then stopped again. I have checked for all the usual air leaks and have run from a seperate barrel of diesel, but all to no avail. Since i know the tractor has ben run with no fuel filter for a bit i have removed the injector pump and taken it to be tested. can any body help with pump timming and further suggestions if the pump is ok? Thanks James

Hi James

Which country are you in ?
If you are familiar with spill timing, the marks are accessable through the inspection cover on the side of the clutch housing. It spills at 22* BTDC. If you're not sure, just bolt it back on where you took it off and move it by trial and error, checking running and starting each time. Let us know how it goes.

Mike
