I have a 8011 which has started burning a lot of oil , about 1 litre per 2 hours with blue smoke and liquid oil dripping from exhaust. Strange thing is the tractor is running well, full power and starts on a turn. I have fitted valve stem seals but no improvement.

I am about to embark on a full engine overhaul but am I missing something obvious?

When oil is low on dipstick the burning is much less but oil pressure is low so I really have top it up. I have checked the dipstick- it is correct so I'm not overfilling.

Any ideas welcome

You'll probably find broken piston rings, I've had one going very well, starting easily as well, with only 1 piston with all its rings intact, it had done around 8000 hours.

I don't know if the 8011 is turbo charged or not, but if it is check the Turbo first. I have seen turbochargers lose their seals and leak oil into the exhaust. The engine performs fine but there is blue smoke and large consumption of oil.

Good Luck
