Hi all,

While agitating slurry yesterday my 12245 stalled,,and just after stalling a lot of engine coolant was blown out of the radiator cap.my first guess is that the thermostat got stuck.....the engine now turns over easily by hand and starts ok but when its running it doesnt sound right and it doesnt seem to have the same bark as it used to...my fear is that a piston has dragged ?!?!

Any ideas ???

John.

I don't like the loss of coolant with the stall. It implies compression pressure finding its way into the water jacket. Let's say an exhaust valve jammed shut, it would cause the stall and compression blow past the gasket. In which case it would still be putting compression into the water - no sign of bubbles? Just thinking aloud, it's not a problem I've had with the 6745 and I've only had my 12045 for six months. If you've got the centrifugal oil filter it wouldn't hurt to have a quick look to see if there's anything nasty going on in the motor.

Head is off,,2pistons and liners beyond repair,,head seems to be fine.

Probably replace all liners and pistons,,anyone know if these parts are expensive,?

About 50 Eur for each kit.

You have to check for the exactly right spare number. You can mail them and they will help you.
ATP ships all over the world.
