Help !! - My 6245 is stuck in Reverse Gear -

Any ideas on how to get it out?

Think I might be able to unjam it by just pulling the shift lever assembly?

Thanks

If you take off the cab floor in the middle, you can see a row of 5 bolts on the transmission cover: 1, space, 2 3 4 space, 5

You need to screw out the 4th bolt and push the shift lever beneath it, back in neutral with something like a screw driver.
If you're smart., cut a slot right above the place where this row of bolts is, so next time you can access it by just taking off teh rubber cover. Which makes it a 2 minute job.

If the problems occurs too often, the dealer can sell you a modification kit to weld on top of the transmission housing under the main lid. it's a $15 kit but needs a half a days of work to install.

Thanks Renze

Before I read your message, I was able to fix it by taking off the floor cover and then taking off the shifter.

I could then see that the 1st/reverse shifter slot was out of place.

I just tapped it back to where it should be with a wooden dowel and a mallet, carefully put the shifter back on and all is well!

:)-)

Yes, that works as well.. only then you have to unscrew 4 bolts and i think, 2 centering pins more.

It's a known problem, our 5245 had it too a few years ago.
Therefor, there is a modification kit from the factory, if you need it.

I dont know what the part # is... It's from Zetor PDC genuine so your dealer must know it if he asks the importer...

It's a piece of cake once the cab floor and gearbox lid are removed.. well just say a half a days of work and 15 dollar for the mod kit itself :)
