loader subframe (project diary)

Not much of an update yet...

My brother rented out 12 horse stables, which had to be mounted and placed in the machinery shed... Unfortunately i pushed out the front brick wall with the 6718 trying to scoop up a bucket of paving sand...

Anyways last thursday i had the rear axle mounting brackets laser cut at my new employer, and saturday i have hung the beams under the tractor. Tuesday evening i will drill another 16 holes in the front beams along the engine, and see if i can get the upright consoles in place.
I will just drill a 30 mm hole in the beam and stick the power steering cylinder bolt tight through it, in its original conical hole, instead of making a new bracket that would needed to be lathed in the correct angle.

It seems that everything fits the way i had it in my mind. :)

Pictures follow asap.

Hey Renze,

Hows this loader project coming on.

Are you still looking for a tractor, have a look at this site www.mascus.com there are a few bargins there at the mo. well here in england anyhow.

o.k. guys here are some photos. I still need to do a lot of welding, it's just hanging on some small welds...

Hey Doc,
If you dont hurry up and finish it, the rear end loader will be back in fashion and you will be behind again:p

Still think you should put a front mounted pump on it

Hey Orange, are you statisfied with the so-far results ?? ;)

Hey Doc
You should know me by now, I'm never satisfied >:)

But yes it is coming along nicely now (at last)

1, tip for you, you might want to think about putting a large U bolt over the front cab mounting tube, then weld a plate to your side rails so the bolt goes through it. This will give you a little support in the middle of the frame, it is easy to do ;)

Ha ha Orange, already thought of !!

i had 4 support brackets laser cut at my new employer, and will go shop for U-shaped pipeclamps at a cow fence welding shop tomorrow.

I will also add two 1 1/2" x5 mm pipes from the consoles to the middle of the front beam, for extra reinforcement, because the welds of the 200x25 mm consoles to the UNP 180 will not hold, all in a single spot.

The loader project is looking great! When you finish it and give it a coat of Quickie satin black it will be a really smart outfit.

any finished pics, paint?......wheels on ??......pulling loads?

figure what you are going to charge?

Crystalman, i've painted it Hammerite black. I'm allmost done mounting it, but i have to wait for a relative of my brother, to lathe the new support for the power steering cylinder, the conical hole. This afternoon i tried the lathe of my boss, but it was an old piece of shit and it didn't work for the fine jobs.

Now i need to weld the 50x10 mm strips to reinforce the actual loader, and weld the Euro frame together.

My neighbor behind, works as a forklift mechanic and i made a deal with him to exchange bale gathering hours for hose pressing hours... :D

Finished it yet Renze? hope you have, otherwise how are you coping without your 5245!!!

Yes i have been playing in the manure heap last week, with just one hose attached (loose through the cab) and the 3pt hitch bucket attached with a pipe and a chain, the bucket as seen on other photos on this site. It can lift 800 liters of wet muck and walk up the steep manure heap with it in low gear. Now i need to get the other oil lines installed (and a 3 section spool valve block)

The 5245 is working again but needs new engine valves. we have used the 6718, 2011 or Deutz D50 meanwhile.

I hope to shoot some pictures but i cant promise... ;)
