Oil dripping out the handbrake dust cover at rear of 7745

Is it normal to have oil coming out the left side (facing forward)
of the tractor where the handbrake rod enters into the housing.

I know my auxillary 3 pt lift cylinder seals are also leaking and I will change shortly. Could I have an internal leak as well on the 3 pt hitch.

Guess my real question is - should there be any gear oil in the bottom of the housing.

I just changed the seals on my loader and now the power steering and rear 3pt lift auxillary cylinders are also leaking. Guess the seals all going about the same time. Its a 1991 7745
after all.

Appreciate any comments and help !

By the way, I finally found a Canadian dealer not 15 miles away from me. Except for the Quebec french english translation, its been working out great. I'll be asking him these questions later this week as well. Just thought I'd get some additional expertise from all of you.

Many thanks! Mike from Montreal.

Just discussed with my dealer and he seems to think it's a faulty seal around the rear axle where it enters the final drive housing.

The support for this is a bolt was placed in the right side in the "over-flow" hole under the final drive housing. When I undid
the bolt, the hydraulic oil gushed out.

Worst part is you have to remove the rear axle and brake to get at it. (I just hope that's all it is!)

So to answer my own question, there should not be any hydraulic oil in the bottom of the final drive housing and especially none that should be dripping out the dust cover where the hand brake rod enters the final drive housing.

Of interest for those whom are having thoughts about changing the clutch on a 7745, my dealer was working on one when I entered the shop. He had the motor out and nothing but the shell left at the cab area. Looked to me like half the tractor was in pieces all over the floor. Big job!

I wasn't sure so I kept quiet but you have dry disc brakes like a Crystal instead of drums like the earlier models. The brake cylinders are the same part as a crystal because the dealer told me so when I was amazed he had them in stock! The seals go because people leave the handbrake on and overheat them.

Well, I do believe I finally have my oil leakage problem solved.

It was the seal around the axle drive connecting into the final drive housing. Had to change my brake disks as well on that side account they were worn right down and soaked with oil.

At least I do not need to put a pail under it any more.

Only problem left is leak in the front power steering tank area.

I believe there is a gasket in there so I'll check it out. Hose connections look good but the cylinder is leaking a bit - though not enough to cause the tank to drop down over a couple of days.

Any suggestions as to what might be the cause?
