In the mid 90 Zetor replaced the cyklon oil filter on many models i.e 4340 with the type full flow spin on filter. Was this change due to cost or filtration effectivness?

well ill tell you one thing, it cant be about filtration effectivenss because nothing is better than centrifugal filters in that manner. i suspect it to be a profit issue. they earn Money selling spin on filters, instead of a washable one.

You are right the centrifugal filter is far better however it just filter 10 % of the flow that will say the oil goes direct without any filtration 9 times out of 10. In the the full flow the oil is filtrated each cycle.

i would guess that both profit base and consumer damand was the reason. majority of people are familiar with screw on filters and didnt fully understand how the zetor was filtering its oil in the past. screw on filters also offer a large surface area for filtration so you are filtering the majority of the oil as it passes through the filter. just my thought on the matter
