Sometimes when turning the ignition-key to start the engine, I hear the Solenoid clicking and not turning the engine over.
It dose not do it all the time and has been doing it from the time since the purchase, back February 2024.
By turning the key several-time in a row (Like 3 to 10 times) it has started the engine.
The Starter-motor seems to be strong when turning the engine over.

Can I repair this Solenoid myself ?

- Check the electrical connections between the battery and the starter (corrosion, breaks, crushing)
- Remove the starter magnet switch, clean the contacts inside (rust or contact burn-off) and if necessary smooth them out again with a file.

Thanks, I will check those connections out.

If I needed to replace the starter, is this one the correct correct one for the 3340:

Or this one:

I also searched for just the Solenoid
and is this one the correct one too ? (If I need to replace it):

Thnik that shoul fit.

UPdate: Looking at the Solenoid, there is a white plug going to it.
I disconnected this white plug and cleaned the rust off the terminal and plugged them back together again.
WOW, this has fixed the trouble.
Can be happy again !

Yes, and see too if a battery connection has a crack in it, the tractor might start fine if your using it everyday, but if you only start it once a week or in cold weather, when you go start all you get is click click click click.

I had one of these starters, it came on one of the 8111 I bought this year. They far to small for Irish conditions and too weak for starting an 8111 anyway. I took it off when I started working the tractor and fitted proper one to suit the size of the tractor. I know there's one this size fitted to my HSX from new but it works fine with the heater.

True. A bad earth/ground connection is a common problem for these tractors.
When they often parking outside... yes, absolutly agree.

Most of the time when you hear clicking but no starting, it's usually poor connection or corrosion on a terminal.
At our 5245 the ground cable behind the battery box, connected to the chassis, rotted in half. You dont see that unless you crawl underneath..
