Zetor News

What's up at Zetor and Zetor dealers?
Finally some good news for Zetor: Danatek, Zetor dealer since 2023, has now become importer for Denmark and Norway. HC Pedersen, also a Danish company, represented Zetor for decades, yet because Zetor could not offer a full portfolio in key market segments, has taken on Deutz about a decade ago, and recently became representative for New Holland. Already a year ago, HCP announced that Zetor was no longer a priority and put on ice. This is another step towards reviving sales in the Nordic countries, as Zetor is already represented in Sweden by Stenlunds: https://www.stenlundslm.se/traktorer/ Only in Finland, HCP still represents Zetor. https://lantbruksnytt.se/ny-importor-for-zetor-i-danmark-och-norge/
Zetors UK subsidiary is declared bankrupt on 15th of August. I was under the impression that only the Anglosaxon countries (UK, US) still sold quite some tractors in the West, but apparently not enough to keep Zetor UK afloat... Update 04-10-2024 While this is being sorted out, dealer LW Yarnold Ltd. will cover the responsibility for the availability of spare parts, and factory warranty remains unaffected. https://www.zetor-dealer.co.uk/index.html As soon as there is more news about how this is resolved in a permanent manner, we will update you here. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4683938
... the signs are pointing to a red line at Zetor at the moment. I hope for the brand that they can turn things around. I think that Germany has been classified as a less important market for Zetor tractors, thus creating a chicken-and-egg problem: no advertising, no sales, no sales, no advertising. The last official Zetor news was from June 2024: https://www.zetor.cz/storyboard/detail/274 and we will also be at a trade fair in CZ in August: Quite current from the CZ press: aktualne.cz writes: https://zpravy.aktualne.cz/ekonomika/auto/propousteni-v-zetoru-nebere-konce-o-praci-prijde-200-lidi-zt/r~686c6eac5e0711efb689ac1f6b220ee8/ Note: In its heyday, Zetor employed around 10,000 people (before the fall of communism), in 2014...
HCP Norge, the Zetor importer of Norway, which has taken on Deutz Fahr and is pushing them over Zetor to their dealers, has finally spoken straight out what they have been doing for 10 years: They will no longer prioritize Zetor. https://www.gardsdrift.no/bransjenytt-hcp-traktor/zetor-er-lagt-pa-is/985269?fbclid=IwAR1HOoZqH9KwLun3YZCU8YpQ0BSFBAjBT8SWQ_IwKJV0GdfPdaWGiQxPrAY This changes nothing for customers, as HCP has asked people who asked for Zetor, if they wouldnt rather buy a Deutz from their inventory instead, for years. Off course it is understandable that they took on Deutz Fahr because it takes the same marketing expense to promote a brand, but DF gives more revenue because DF has a full line of tractors and Zetor...

See also: https://zetorworld.com/threads/new-denial-from-zetor-zetor-sells-real-estate-rents-it-back-production-moves-to-india-or-not.5438/post-24391 Short and sweet: Zetor will stop producing its own engines and transmissions from 2025, instead of this Zetor focus on ZF and Carraro gearboxes/axles and Deutz engines (see the new 2024 Forterra...
Zetor has sold the factory to a real estate company, rents it back on a 25 year contract. Production of engines and transmissions will move to India. Yes, youve read that right: i saw such news last month, but i didnt share it untill i saw it again. This can mean two things: A. Zetor will continue to build engines and transmissions, just the casting and machining will be done at VST and Brno keeps assembling final products, so they are in control of their final product, just like Cummins and ZF produce in China. This would mean Zetor could compete with in-house designed tractors. or B. Brno will only be a sales office with the complete product coming from India, with Indian quality control, which will mean a death sentence for the...
On Zeme Zivitelka fair, Ceske Budejovice, CZ, Zetor has announced to introduce a new tractor model with 120-171hp. Zetor North America says it is the new Forterra, available from third quarter of 2024. What is clear is that it has a completely new cab, but we will follow what details will be publicized in the next week. As can be seen, it has a steel sickle above the mudguard, like the Proxima. This is because the cabs have been placed higher on Crystal and Forterra to improve operator visibility, which left a bigger gap between tire and mudguard at the back, with the previous cab. Possibly this allows for more room above the wheels to install the more ergonomic hydraulic control levers of the Proxima in the HSX too. Other...
