  1. 6340 gear/hydraulic maintenance

This almost 20 year old tractor has had poor maintenance, probably never a lube change of gearbox. I think the tractor has low hours, maybe 1500 to 2000. The clock stopped at 290 hours. I drained the gearbox (~30L) and the front drive shaft box (~4L). Is there a drain on the final drive case...
  2. 6340 clutch arm free play

Should there be a large amount of free play in the clutch arm. The PTO clutch arm ( the inner arm) has very little free play and with a wrench I can push this arm rearwards (counterclockwise) against a strong spring. The arm for main clutch resting position is similar to the PTO arm, but I...
  3. 6340 gearbox brake

Thanks. Would the rod from the arm attached to the clutch slave be for the gear brake on other models ? On mine I suppose it is only for lining up the cylinder and push rod as the rear end of the rod is fixed to the trans case by the arm which spans two studs in the case.
  4. zetor 3320 power steering cylinder

Harner, do you have the repair parts ? I have ordered some parts from a company named Sent Parts. They have parts listed on Ebay and are shipped direct from Czech. I have also found CD manuals from a seller in the UK, very reasonably priced. I have ordered the parts, repair, and operators...
  5. 6340 gearbox brake

Can anyone tell me what the gearbox brake is and where to find it. I am ready to assemble the clutch slave and have found a page in the operator's manual referring to "clutch slave cylinder and gearbox brake adjustment. In the diagram the lever (5) is adjusted to line up the slave cylinder...
  6. zetor 12111

Do you do the powertrain repairs yourself ?
  7. zetor 12111

Pat, My 6340 is a much newer model, but has suffered being parked for 6 years in this wet Canada west coast weather. I'm trying to get everything loosened up and working and hope no major internal parts need repair or replacement. The engine runs good. Biggest problem is a frozen clutch. I...
  8. zetor 12111

    BEAUTIFUL ! CONGRATULATIONS !
  9. 6340 parking brake and PTO clutch frozen ?

See post "6340 clutch adjustment" for further discussion of this problem and solution. SUGGESTION TO OWNERS OF MODELS WITH THIS ARRANGEMENT OF PARKING BRAKE AND PTO CLUTCH CABLES ATTACHED TO THE SAME SHAFT Frequently squirt oil onto this shaft and rotate the nylon bushings on both sides of the...
  10. 6340 clutch adjustment

After much work (heat, hammer, wrench, and sweat) I have removed the shaft with a few hammer marks which I hope won't cause much leaking at the seals which look good. I will probably put it all back together with the old seals. If too much leak, now that everything is loosened it won't be but...
  11. 6340 parking brake and PTO clutch frozen ?

See today's post in "clutch adjustment" for my further thoughts about the parking brake/PTO clutch situation. Help would be appreciated.
  12. 6340 clutch adjustment

Just in from the tractor. Put my hand in the clutch window again and confirmed that the release bearing turns freely with no noise and face is smooth. Could only reach one finger and didn't know what to feel for but no sharp edges found. I'm inclined to put the slave back in, bleed the system...
  13. 6340 clutch adjustment

Thanks, I haven't looked at the tractor for a few days, and had taken off some of the linkages as the handbrake and cPTO clutch cables were seized, so I may not have remembered a linkage from the pivot point to near the clutch slave. What I remember is that both cables came to arms on the same...
  14. 6340 clutch adjustment

The shaft must go all the way through the transmission, because on the other side of the tractor a similar shaft comes out to activate the hand brake. There must be an inner shaft which works the PTO clutch and the two are frozen together but I haven't been able to free up by hammering and I...
  15. 6340 clutch adjustment

Thanks again. So does the 6340 clutch have 6 adjustable fingers or just 3 ? Also did you see my post about the PTO clutch and handbrake which seem to be frozen together on the shaft that goes into the transmission. Between the two arms there is a fiber or plastic sleeve on the shaft, which I...
  16. 6340 clutch adjustment

I think the meter is between 2000 and 3000 hours. Tractor was used for mowing, raking, and baling hay. Tires look new and it has a good quick detach front loader which looks brand new. But everything is seized up from sitting for 6 or 8 years in our damp west coast climate. Does the 6340...
  17. hand primer pump for Z6340

Thanks. I have ordered a primer on EBay from send parts 9 in Czech. May not be the quality of Bosch, but couldn't easily find a supplier for the Bosch.
  18. 6340 clutch adjustment

Thanks for the help. The release bearing face is smooth, without any grooves. I haven't felt the fingers yet as I don't know what to feel for. I have found a picture of the Zetor dual stage clutch which shows 6 fingers, 3 which adjust. Is this the clutch on the 6340. I have ordered the...
  19. 6340 parking brake and PTO clutch frozen ?

Both cables are connected to the same shaft, but on different arms. Are these frozen together or should they work independently ? Mine are frozen together, but the shaft turns against a spring which must be inside the transmission case. On the other side of the tractor a shaft also turns and...
  20. 6340 clutch adjustment

Thanks. I guess this means a new clutch. I'm not sure what to look for in the inspection port. Will the adjustment bolts around the perimeter be of any use ? Can I put a small spacer to extend the rod 1 or 2 cm to get more clutch movement ?
