Hi can anyone help with the lever positions for the PTO on my 3545? I have no live drive - is this correct?! How many PTO speeds should i have? There also seems to be a position that drives the PTO with the wheels is this also correct? It would be great to shed some light on this before i go delving into the back end.

Basically what i currently have is PTO lever fully forward (horizontal) is PTO engaged, next position up is neutral then some position that is driven via the gearbox/roadwheel speed. ???

Thats correct. You can get independent oil pump drive when shifting the PTO to ground speed, put it in 2nd gear, put the hi/low in neutral. Then you can fold a hay tedder without busting the U joints or taking off the PTO shaft.
Only the later types (4511/5511, or not untill the 7 series ?) they had 4 positions, one with independent oil pump drive.

Ahh that explains it - many thanks Renze! :D

...now time to sort out the zetormatic dropping down...

Just dont overheat your oil pump on the ground speed PTO as it will do 1300 rpm in 5th gear, instead of 540 standard.

I need to replace the piston seal on my 3011 as well because it will drop the tedder down on the pavement before i am in the field, as it will not correct itself when the oil pump/pto is off.

Renze, i'll stick to 2nd gear for lifting etc as that will do me fine so no overheating the oil /pump for me ;)

I'm planning the top off for the piston seal replacement asap then put it to work - maybe i will have to dig out the zetor mower too :D

2nd gear is about 490 PTO, 3rd is 600 if i remember correctly.
