I changed the brake shoes on one side of my 57/11 now the brake pedal has to go all the way down for this side to work. I think because the shoes are returning way back from the drum.
How are they adjusted? Can they be?
It's definately not air in the pipes.

Did you change the slave cylinder at the same time? If so did you use the correct part number as the cylinders are self adjusting & the later cylinders had more "Free play" which will give you more pedal travel. It is also possible the old cylinder had partially siezed, giving less pedal travel

Yes I changed both master cylinders and then one side slave cylinder and shoes now I'm about to change the other side slave and shoes. I just ordered the parts of my Zetor dealer so I don't know the part numbers.
But your saying that they should be self adjusting?

Hi,

They're self adjusting. Drive it round the yard backwards and forwards and keep applying the brakes hard, on and off. They'll improve as the pistons move out of the slave cylinders.

Mike

Thanks they are fine now both come on together perfect.
I had the master cylinders push rod adjusted out a bit too much but now it's good. Back on the road!
