Hi,

Anbout 6 weeks ago I replaced both slave and master cylinders on my brakes. What a difference it makes having good brakes.

However a new problem has cropped up which I am having difficulties solving.
One of the brakes sticks in the on (braked position). The only way I can release it is by undoing the bleed nut on the slave at the back and releasing a little fluid. Hey presto the brake releases.

What could my problem be. It seems to me that I have no problem in building pressure when i press the foot brake. However when I release the foot brake the fluid cannot find a return path from the slave cylinder. I am mystified.

Could it be that I have a dodgy master clinder which will not allow fluid to return?
Could I have a problem on the brake pressure equalizer unit underneath the tractor?
Is there any other logical reason to explain my hdraulic pressure lock up in the brake system.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Hi

Your problem is the adjustment of the master cylinder push rod. You should have a little play on each cylinder when the pedals are locked together.

Good luck

Mike
